Wine Making Healthy Heart

Wine Making Healthy Heart - Wine is a nutritious beverage, and many health benefits. These drinks can lower blood cholesterol, reduce weight, able to ward off cancer, and create a healthy heart.

For the people of Indonesia, the wine is identical as the upper class drinks. In fact, wine is a beverage that is very beneficial for health. Wine, including alcoholic beverages produced from fermented fruits. The most common fruit used as raw material for the manufacture of wine is grapes. Other fruits such as plum, elderberry, and black currants can also be used.

The grapes are naturally able to produce wines with the best quality, even without the addition of sugars, acids, enzymes, and other nutrients. Types of wine used as raw material for European wine is wine, Vitis vinifera. In addition, the wines can also be made from the species Vitis labrusca, Vitis aestivalis, Vitis muscadinia, Vitis rupestris, Vitis rotundifolia, Vitis riparia and thriving in North America.

Wine made from fruit other than grapes known as fruit wine or country wine. Wine can also be made of starch such as barley wine, rice wine, and sake (Japanese typical drink). There are also wines made from the distillation of so-called brandy.

Wine Type
The word wine comes from old English, that is a win, which means “victorious”. In ancient times, the drink was used as a drink for the king’s honor. Until now, wine was often used to celebrate a momentum or achievements, or the new year.

The origin of wine is estimated to come from Europe and popular worldwide due to exploration. This drink is also often referred to as a missionary for a drink of wine is also used in the Eucharistic celebration of the Catholic religion.

Largest wine producer in the world is France, followed by Italy, Spain and the United States. China is also one of the top ten wine producing countries of the world.

There are many types of wine. However, the most popular are the red wine (red wine) and white wine (white wine). Red wine made from red wine fermented with the skin. Red wine is usually served with red meat or spaghetti. Meanwhile, white wine can be made from any color grapes because the skins are separated during the wine fermentation process.

White wines are usually sweeter taste and served with white meats, seafood, and poultry. Rose wines are also included one of the famous types of wine. The color is pink like a rose.

Sparkling wine, like champagne, is a type of wine that contains carbon dioxide. To produce this sparkling wine, grapes must be fermented twice. Beverages are most often presented at a formal dinner party or a wedding. Sparkling wine can be red wine, white wine or rose wine.

Some traditional wines in Europe, including sparkling wines such as sekt or schaumwein (Germany), cava (Spanish), spumante or prosecco (Italy). Besides, also known wine fortified with sugar to make it more sweet, one of brandy.

In addition, there is still table wines are categorized as mild wine. In Europe, table wine alcohol limit from 8.5 to 14 percent. Dessert wine is one wine that is also quite popular in Asia because it was sweet. Wine is classified as port wine dessert wine, sweet sherry, tokaji (Tokay), Sauternes and muscatel. Aperitif wines are also quite popular and are usually taken before meals to enhance meat flavor.

Nutrient Composition
On wine bottle labels usually include the names of origin and year of manufacture manufacture. Area home-making determine the type of grapes used. The older age of a wine, quality wine produced is also getting better. This is because the longer the storage, the wine will continue to experience the process of fermentation. Alcohol content in wine ranges from 14-20 percent.

Viewed from its nutrient composition, wine including beverages which have a relatively good nutritional content. Energy content in wine varies widely, depending on its type, which is between 50-160 g. kkal/100 Energy on wines generally come from carbohydrates, particularly sugar. Wine contains no fats at all, so do not worry about getting fat due to the consumption of wine in a fair amount every day.

Significant mineral content in wine are: potassium (between 80-112 mg/100 g), calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese, and selenium. Sodium content in wines are generally low, except on cooking wines.

Cooking wine should not be used for cooking for people with hypertension because of high sodium content, ie 626 mg per 100 g. Vitamin levels in wine are generally present in very low amounts, did not even contain vitamin C at all.

Protect Your Heart, Prevent Cancer
Red wine is the most popular types. In addition to attractive colors, red wine has incredible benefits. Many myth that drinking wine can boost the immune system, thus protected from various diseases. This evidence led to French wines labeled as a Paradox.

In France, the number of patients with coronary heart disease is much smaller than the population of the United States, even the smallest compared with other European countries. In fact, the French consume more fat and smoking, as well as relatively less mobile. The researchers linked this phenomenon with the habits of French people who like red wine in everyday life.

A study in Europe showed that red wine contains more phenolic compounds than white wines. Phenols or flavonoids are powerful antioxidants, which have cardioprotective effects (protects the heart from free radical attack).

Flavonoids may prevent the oxidation of LDL (bad cholesterol), 20 times stronger than vitamin E. Flavonoids are proven to have very strong biological effects as antioxidants, inhibit the clotting of the pieces of blood cells, stimulates production of nitrite oxidation that can dilate blood vessels, and also inhibit cancer cell growth.

At the time of fermentation of red wine, a complex of flavonoid compounds break down into simpler, thus more easily absorbed than that found in fresh fruit. The presence of alcohol (10 percent) in the flavonoid content of wines made stable.

According to research, Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, the second compound contained in wine is very promising for preventing cancer. Research conducted by Agnes Rimando of the Natural Products Utilization Research Unit, Oxford, Mississippi, shows that compounds found in wine pterostilbene (terro-STILL-bien).

This compound has the ability to prevent cancer, just as powerful as resveratrol, an antioxidant compound in grapes that had previously been found. Pterostilbene also show strong Growth inhibition of breast cancer cells.

Resveratrol in wine is one component of which is very useful. Based on several published research, resveratrol is very beneficial for maintaining heart health.

A study conducted by Gary Meszaros and Joshua Bomser from The Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, showed that resveratrol could inhibit angiotensin II, which is a hormone that can cause high blood pressure and heart attacks.

Resveratrol is also a good anti-cancer agents to prevent prostate cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, and breast cancer. A publication in The Journal of Applied Toxicology, July 2003, showed resveratrol can reduce benzopyrene which is a component of cancer-causing free radicals.
A publication of the Life Sciences, August 2003, showed resveratrol can inhibit tumor cell proliferation and metastasis. FASEB Journal from the U.S. also showed very beneficial resveratrol can inhibit the growth of cancer-causing cell death. The content of resveratrol in red wine to reach 1.5 to 3 milligrams per liter.

A publication in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, November 2005, shows that red wine may reduce Alzheimer’s disease. That is because the content of resveratrol in red wine can reduce levels of amyloid-beta peptides (Abeta). A publication in The Journal of Agricultural and Food chemistry in 2006 showed that red wine can increase blood flow to the brain up to 30 percent.

Besides resveratrol, French researchers also managed to find acutimissin component A in red wines which are anticancer. Acutimissin classified in class A ellagitannin polyphenols.

A study showed that acutimissin A can inhibit enzymes that have activity as cancer cells. Acutimiisin A has 250 times better potential to inhibit cancer cells compared to anti-cancer drug VP-16. In addition, red wine also contains the hormone melatonin. This hormone can help calm the mind, so someone can sleep more soundly.

Lower Cholesterol and Weight Loss
Compared with red wine, white wine is less popular. The chemical composition of white wines that benefit the body was not as good as red wine. In white wines there are no rutine and quercetine resveratrol which is characteristic of grapes.

The process of making white wine is not made with grape skins, whereas in fact the most polyphenols exist in grape skin. Amino acid content of histamine and tannins in white wines were also lower than red wine.

However, white wine is not without virtues of alcohol beverages. Some studies even show a white wine is far better for health than red wine. A study conducted by Prof. Dr. J. Keul and Dr. D. König of the University of Freiburg, showed that consumption of white wine can significantly reduce LDL cholesterol, fibrinogen, and blood sugar.

Weight can be reduced to 1.7 kg when ate white wine for 4 weeks. According to Dr. Jung et al of the University of Mainz, white wine is more effective to reduce blood pressure compared with red wine. Based on research at the University of Buffalo, white wine is very useful to prevent lung cancer, is more effective than red wine.

Although the antioxidant content of white wines less than red wine, the effectiveness of antioxidants in white wines also proved better than red wine. A study of The Jordan Heart Research Foundation showed only red wine can reduce free radicals in the body up to 15 percent, while white wines up to 34 percent.

According to Dr. Troup from Monash University, Australia, antioxidant molecules in white wine is smaller than red wine, and thus more easily absorbed by the body. That’s what made although the content of antioxidants in white wine a little more, its effectiveness is better than red wine.

Although wine has exceptional benefits, consumption should not be excessive. Besides causing dependence and alcohol content in wine can also cause heart disorders and high blood pressure. Excessive consumption of wine can also cause migraines.
